This charming Driskill wedding was full of beautiful details. As a wedding photographer I love to hear stories about wedding dresses and  this one is so good. 
"On one of our girls' road trips, my Mom and I decided that when the day finally came we would go to Paris to find my wedding dress. A couple weeks after the engagement, and in the research phase of our trip planning, we decided to make a few appointments in my hometown, Chicago, to get an idea of the style I wanted before we traveled 4,000 miles. Our first stop was Ultimate Bride on Oak Street - the same bridal gown salon where my mom got her wedding dress 35 years prior.
Naeem Khan happened to be setting up for a weekend trunk show on the day of my appointment, and on my Mom's recommendation, I decided to try on a couple that were pretty opposite of what I was leaning toward. The Oslo was the third dress I tried on. It was the exact opposite of what I thought I wanted but it fit like a glove and I fell in love with its details and craftsmanship: the wide grosgrain ribbons draping from the shoulders, the silk ribbon pattern that I had never seen before...I just knew it was the one and knew I could build the details of the rest of the wedding around the elegance it exuded. I literally did not want to take it off. There's a picture of me sitting in the chair sipping celebratory champagne while on the phone with other bridal salons cancelling appointments. I like to say the dress is so perfect I gave up a trip to Paris for it!" Ella
